The history of Durable dates back to the year 1920. In that year Karl Hunke and Wilhelm Jochheim founded a company in the German village Iserlohn that manufactured metal riders. The company is then called Hunke & Jochheim. After the war, in 1945, the first plastic products were produced. The DURABLE brand name is also being used. In 1980 the first foreign subsidiaries were established in England and Sweden and later in the Netherlands.
DURABLE Belgium was established in 1997. For 90 years, DURABLE stands for products with high quality and functionality in combination with a beautiful design. They were also one of the first German manufacturers of office supplies that received the ISO9001 international quality standard in 1994. Signalization products and small office furniture have also become part of the DURABLE product range.
